St. Jerome Hieronymus Panel #12764
St. Jerome was also known as Hieronymus which is the Latin equivalent meaning 'one with a sacred name.' He became well known for translating most of the Bible into Latin and for his extensive writings on the Gospels. This image shows him at the ready with a writing quill raised in his right hand and holding a large book in his left hand. St. Jerome's vibrant scarlet robe and matching hat give this picture a bright and cheerful tone which is beautifully augmented by the colorful border.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
