Saint Francis de Sales with Books Panel #12645
This stained glass window features Saint Frances de Sales holding a book in his hand which is symbolic of his role as a teacher within the Church. The arched top window features two kneeling angels in the upper section. Saint Frances de Sales was the Bishop of Geneva. He is known for his writings about spirituality and is especially well known for his works, The Treatise on the Love of God and The Introduction to the Devout Life. Sales was the founder of the Women's Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary. His feast day is celebrated on the 24th of January. Saint Frances de Sales is the patron saint of writers and journalists. He is also the patron saint of the deaf. Saint Frances is also one of the patron saints of the Paulist Fathers in the United States.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
