St Martin of Tours Panel #12605
This window features Saint Martin of Tours as the central element. Martin carries a crozier of the bishop and a book. In this window, Saint Martin of Tours is pictured in his bishop's garb. Saint Martin of Tours was a Roman soldier. One of the most famous stories about Saint Martin is when, as a soldier, he shared his robe with a beggar; taking off his cloak and splitting it with his sword so he could share half with a cold and poor man who was waiting for charity. While Saint Martin was a Roman soldier he converted to Christianity. Once he left the Roman army he became a promoter of Christianity and became Bishop of Tours in the year 371. The feast day of Martin of Tours is November the 11th.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
