St Louise de Marillac Panel #12581
This window features Saint Louise de Marillac. Saint Louise was the co-founder along with Saint Vincent de Paul of the Daughters of Charity. Saint Louise helped found the Daughters of Christian Charity and later led the Company of the Daughters until her death. She had helped organize the group and nearing her death she had written: “Take good care of the service of the poor. Above all, live together in great union and cordiality; loving one another in imitation of the union and the life of our Lord. Pray earnestly to the Blessed Virgin, that she might be your only mother.” Saint Louise de Marillac died on March 16th of 1660, just six months before the death of her friend and mentor, Vincent de Paul. She was beatified by Pope Benedict XV in 1920. Her feast day is March 15th.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
