The Visitation of Mary and Elizabeth Panel #12362
This design illustrates the Visitation, when the Virgin Mary, newly bearing the Christ Child, visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is pregnant with John the Baptist (Luke 1:39–45). Elizabeth joyfully greets Mary, filled with the Holy Spirit, and proclaims her “blessed among women.” At the sound of Mary’s voice, John leaps in Elizabeth’s womb, recognizing the presence of the Savior. This meeting affirms God’s promises and reveals the sacred bond between the two mothers and their unborn sons. The scene speaks to divine joy, humility, and the fulfillment of prophecy.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
